February 15, 2012 Topic: Making Sense of Stress – Different types, the effects and how to cope
How often is it that you are just going through the motions of your day, then you arrive home exhausted, and by the time you lay down for bed you realize you were in a high intense state the whole day? Got stress? 75% of Americans report feeling significant stress in their daily lives. How would it change things for you by having more awareness about what is causing you stress and having the tools to cope with it? If you could make more sense of your stress and learning from it, how might it alter your experience of it in the future?
Yes diet and exercise are great ways of reducing stress and preventing stress. But what if that’s not enough? Stress has many affects on us – physically, emotionally, behaviorally, and mentally. And over time it can take it’s toll. Most people wait until things get so bad, trying to do something about it can almost seem impossible.
What I’ll be talking about on this call:
- What is stress and how there is good stress and bad stress (yes there is good stress!)
- The four important areas of our lives that need to be made a priority
- Ways of coping with it – something more than just suggesting a healthy diet and lots of exercise
